Wants VS. Needs

On Monday my mom called me at 8pm and was telling me about how great her week is going. While I'm happy my mom is having a good week the first thing I said was, "Mom, it's Monday don't you think you're jumping the gun?!" She is so funny sometimes but it makes me so happy she's already having a great "week." Lord knows that woman deserves it.

I've been in a huge cooking mood this week and I'm planning on sharing some recipes soon for Tuna Cakes and Planko Tilapia. Here's a picture sneak peak of the Tuna Cakes:

Can I just say that I am SO happy July is over with! I swear every year that month just seems to drag on and on. My favorite season is next... FALL! I absolutely can't wait for another beautiful Northwest (No, not talking about Kanye's baby) Fall. I'm already on the lookout for candy corn and I really need to decide on what I'm going to be for Halloween.

I also really want to go spend some money. I get in these shopping moods every couple of months and one is hitting me now... I NEED THINGS. Okay, I don't really need anything but I want, OH HOW I WANT!

Feel free to send me any of the following as gifts:

Cartier inspired swag.
Oh and you can buy me the REAL thing here... if you've got 6K just laying around.

Nicholas K Anthro Coat
Nicholas K

Reckless Tall Boot in Brown

Macro USM Lens

Speedlite 430EX II Flash

Canon BG-E9 Battery Grip

Why is everything I want so dang expensive?! But... I could use all of it at the same time... how cute would I be!?

Button Trees and Jewelry Holders

This weekend I have felt like absolute crap but while I was laying around watching Bravo I did get some craft projects done:

I saw this on Pintrest and I feel in love with it.
Since I paint I decided I wanted to recreate it for the apartment. It took me a little while to figure out the grass and several trips to different stores for all the buttons (which are a pain to put on one by one) but it was all worth it.
I only wish I would have made it BIGGER.

While I was wondering the isles of Michael's I also noticed this laser cut frame boarder and had an idea for my bathroom. I've been wanting to showcase my necklaces (and not have them in a pile in a drawer) for awhile and this is the end product of my craft store find:

I painted the boarder and used foam board for the backing. I like it a lot and I think I'm going to get another one to paint a different color and get a wire mesh background for earrings. Theses were super cheap to make (only about $8) and it only took me like 10 minuets to do. What should my next color be? I'm thinking Purple.

I also did a little Retail Therapy on Saturday and bought all this:

When I shop... I shop HARD.

I've been searching for the perfect wrap shoe!

It was magical and my closet improved TENfold. (literally) Then today I decided to go through all my clothes/shoes/purses and get rid of some stuff...or Spring Cleaning as I like to call it.

Goodbye Clothes/Purses/Shoes

I'm so happy I finally sat down and did this I've been meaning to do it for awhile. I refuse to keep things I never wear and I hate keeping things just because I once liked to wear them a lot. It was time and now I have a lonely closet begging for new friends, whatever shall I do?

How often do you "spring clean" your closet?
