LISTEN!

One of my favorite things ever is not being listend to. I just love it.
I love saying something to have it completely ignored. I love going out to dinner and watching you text on your phone, check facebook, and check the weather. I know we are all guilty of it but I'm seriously sick of it when I'm out with my husband and/or friends. I miss just being with that person and talking to each other and them actually hearing what I'm saying. Technology SUCKS in this reguard.
I know that I talk a lot but I have really interesting things to say.
Seriously.

Whatever, rant over.

Tomorrow is going to be killer for me. I'm doing my first two a day in FOREVER. Getting up to run/sauna in the morning before work and then tomorrow night I'm going to my FAVORITE strength training class. Basically we do 7 billion squats, lunges, abs, arms, and stretching moves. I love the way I can't move the next day, it lets me know I actually did something.

Now, I'm off to go read and lay in bed and try and fall asleep. I'm already sore from the 2.4 miles I did tonight and I knowwwwwww my ass won't want to get up if I don't go to bed early. Wish me luck!

Dumb people of the day!

In honor of my awesome mood today I am going to present to you the Dumb people of the Day!

Friday June, 22nd 2012

Justin Bieber
He got a new tattoo for his stupid record breaking CD.
I mean it's an okay word but seriously that font?! You do realize one day you will be an adult right?
With freaking bubble letters on your arm. Dumbass.

These stupid people and the Dumbass who put that song with a shark eating whale feast going on.
And whoever would get in that water after seeing so many sharks that close to shore!

The guy who thinks he knows everything and that told you you don't eat healthy. Excuse me!? You have know idea what I eat and all I asked you was what do you do with radishes?! Don't try to back track and tell me that you only can judge on what you hear me talking about - cheese, milk, pie shakes.
EXCUSE ME just because I talk about those things doesn't mean that's all I eat and I have only had 2 pie shakes in my whole life Asshole!

That's all I got.

Photobucket
Have a Great weekend!

The hubs and I are off to Cannon Beach, OR for our 1 year Anniversary trip this weekend!
Good luck to all you running the Rock 'n' Roll Seattle this weekend I'll be thinking about you while I eat candy and drink pie shakes at the beach.

Bring on the MEAT!

Last night my boss took my 2 coworkers and I out to dinner to celebrate the record month we had in May. I work for a big company that has offices all over the world but our office in Seattle is small, only 5 of us in all so every time something good happens we usually go out for dinner to celebrate. I can't even begin to explain how wonderful and awesome my job is so I won't and we will just get to the point.
the FOOD!

My boss picked Novilhos Brazilian Steakhouse in Factoria (yes, that's really the name of the town) for our dinner and I wasn't excited at first. I had no idea what a Brazilian Steakhouse was, I'm from Mississippi the only steakhouse my daddy took me to was Western Sizzlin if ya know what I mean. Anyways, being the control freak that I am I had to go look at their website to figure out what I was going to eat before we went 2 weeks in advance. Yea, I do that.

I soon realized this was going to be a food EXPERIENCE not just a meal.

They have a total of 14 different meats on skewers that these waiters bring around and shave off the meat per your request. You don't order things here you pay one price (a big one - $50 per person) and it's all you can eat meat and salad bar with several different traditional sides.

Please just go read the website for full details on this experience, I am way to lazy to type that much and I don't want to start losing you people this soon.
So, I'll just shut up and show you pictures!

This was a plate from the "salad" bar. This bar was full of everything under the sun, meats, cheeses, ravioli, asparagus, rice, grilled red potatoes, corn, grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, black beans, etc. etc. etc. They only had 2 small bowls of salad though...my kinda place! I did get a little ceaser salad though and guess what... *gasp* I kinda might be starting to like it. That little biscuit thing on the top left was filled with cheese. I read reviews on these suckers and I was expecting to be wowed. I was not. Red lobster biscuits still beat you. Damn those delicious things. Don't get me wrong though I still ate 2 of them. If they would have been good it would have been more like 6 or 7 so in the end it was for the best.

I managed to snap a photo of one of the guys getting some meat. The sun wasn't exactly behaving but SEE Seattle does have sun...I have proof.

This place trains you quick too. As part of the show everyone gets a token so that the waiters serving the  meat know who wants some more an who doesn't.

If you want meat go green!

And when the time comes that your pants pop or that your plate is to full go red!

It was really fantastic and I can't wait to bring our family here when they visit. The only thing is I really don't feel like I eat enough to validate $50. Maybe we will go at lunch it's half price and mostly the same food or I'll just make CK eat enough for the both of us.

The only thing that realllllly drove me nuts was I could constantly hear forks and knives scraping plates. It's like nails on a chalkboard and I wanted to announce to everyone to stop scraping their damn plates but I held myself in only because I work with those people.

Do you have any fun food adventures I should read about?!

Keep Portland Weird

Oh, I totally saw 2 naked people on bikes at 12am.
Yea, it was weird.

Well, Portland was fun but we may have gotten kinda bored within the first 2 hours and went shopping at the mall/movies and saw That's my Boy.

It was a pretty BIG let down.

I thought this would be Sandlers come back for that other movie whom we do not mention...
But....That's my boy sucked only a tiny bit less.

We did venture around Portland for a little while but it was freaking 80 degrees and humid! Holy crap we've lost all of our southern endurance because we were both sweating and miserable but after walking around we stumbled upon the best Froyo in all the lands...

But first we saw a bunch of Pirates meeting at a street fair that was going on.
Still Keeping Portland Weird

The courthouse

Hers

BEST FROYO EVER!

His

This place was magical. I got the following flavors:

Powdered Donut
Nutella
Cake Batter
Cinnamon Roll
Salted Caramel Pretzels

Holy mess the Cake Batter was the BEST I have tasted yet but the Winner of the visit was the Salted Caramel Pretzel. It was FANTASTIC! Chef Fresh is where it's at Portland. They had the craziest toppings too (whole Twinkies, snickers, chocolate covered strawberries) and if I ever go back to Portland we are for sure going here again!
I have no idea what CK got because I was to busy scarfing my face to look at him for long let alone ask questions. Am I the only one who can't help but get every flavor they can fit in the bowls and the most fattening toppings? I wish I was healthy like you fruit people but I can't pick strawberries over cookie dough. It's just never going to happen.

Then it was time for Chad's show at Rock Bottom and instead of boring you with pictures I have a special treat! Chad singing his new song Evergreen:

I always forget I can do that with my Phone!
Score for remembering!

As long as you're not a killer or rapist.

Anyways, the hubs has a show at Rock Bottom in Portland, OR tomorrow night and we are going to make a day adventure of it to explore the city beforehand! We haven't ever been and I am So excited to finally go, i've heard amazing thingssss! If you're a blogger/reader in that area and don't have any plans come to CK's show tomorrow night or lets make a day date and eat Froyo or something!

Where should we go in Portland? What should we see, eat, watch, hear, and do??? I hear there is a pretty nice Saturday Market should we go?

I need suggestions even if you're not from there.
Don't leave me hanging!

Excuse me?

I had possibly the worst customer service experience of my life tonight.
If you're in Seattle Do NOT join Vision Quest Gym.

It all started with a Groupon.
They had a fantastic deal for a 6 week gym membership at Vision Quest which has several locations around Seattle and the East side where I live. I was pumped because they have a location 3 miles from my house and the Groupon stated it included classes, 3 personal training sessions and free tanning. Well, tonight was my first night and I met up with my friend Angela (who also got the Groupon) and we went to a Strength Training class. I got there 30 mins early because I knew I would have to sign up and I wanted a tour because I like to ask a lot of questions. The guy that started helping me was nice enough and I told him I wanted to make sure I made it to the class at 6 so he knew to hurry it up. The whole time he was trying to get me to be a member and I'm thinking, "Dude, I haven't even used your gym once and I have 6 weeks free why would I join at this exact moment?" Eventually, he got the point after I told him I just wanted to do the Groupon right now and I'll decide in six weeks. He seemed fine with it and then he measured my body fat (such a fun experience) and asked if I minded if he got my weight for our starting point. I obviously didn't hear him correctly because I agreed to it. I really thought he said grab a weight like he was about to show me a move. Then I'm all like shit now I have to get on the scale and I came close to not doing it because I usually only weigh naked but I said screw it and got ready to want to kill myself. To my surprise it was only 2lbs off from my scale at home so I'm thinking this is good because if I was naked it would totally take off 5lbs.....

Back to the point.

He didn't finish signing me up because it was time for my class so he told me to just come see him after and he would get me my member card. I was fine with this and went to the class which was AMAZING! Such a good workout full of lunges, squats, crunches, and 100 different arm workouts with 3 different size weights. After class I decided I wanted to hit the sauna. I LOVE saunas and haven't had access to once since college... that was another HUGE plus to this gym for me. After sweating my ass off for 25 minuets and making a new friend I headed for the door. I thought I was just going to pick up my card and leave but OH how I was wrong. The guy that was helping me before was with some other people trying to get them to be members so I got handed off to the OWNER of all the Vision Quests. He was in this location for the day and proceeded then to ask me all the same questions the first guy asked me. At this point I was ready to kill someone. I wanted to go home, I had a baked potato in the oven for 2 hours at this point and I just wanted the damn card
STOP TRYING TO SELL ME A MEMBERSHIP! Photobucket

Towards the end of this conversation he got my card ready and then said for my membership I had access to the gym and the three personal training sessions but classes were extra.

Photobucket

I then informed him that HIS Groupon said classes were included. He said that wasn't the case and then went into this long rant about how it's not fair to his members if a bunch of 6 weeks Groupon members filled up all the classes. I should have said, "Then you shouldn't have put it on the f*cking Groupon or made the Groupon cost more" but I was in such shock I simply said that the classes were one of the main reasons I GOT THE GROUPON.

Then he told me that it was just at this location and I could go to the other ones with more classes.
Then he said that I could have 1 week of classes free.
Then he said he would Refund me my money for the misunderstanding.

Photobucket
After I told him I didn't want my money back and that I wanted to use the actual gym he went into ANOTHER explanation about how I only paid $10.00 and some members pay $60.00 that he wants to make sure classes are available to them.

Yea, I get it BUT that's not what you advertised and if you HONESTLY think I would EVER join your gym after this you must have smoked a lot of crack before you went to work this morning. The entire TONE of this conversation was very disturbing. I can't really convey my anger and what kills me is that it doesn't even matter because there is no one above him. He is the OWNER. I can't believe that any business person would sell something and then renege on it.
What's also funny about this whole situation is that my friend Angela and Jenn got the same Groupon I did and they were never told classes weren't included and they go all the time.

I'm so angry about this that I pulled up the Groupon just to check that I was right:
First off.. WTF is that last sentence about?!
I get that it says Most but those classes that cost more are laid out on their website.
It's not the every day normal classes!

At the end of this conversation he told me I could go into classes that weren't full because he really didn't mind as long as the paying members weren't affected. WHAT? They don't even check ID's anyways and how could they even prove it or not? The studio is upstairs with all the cardio equipment so for all they know I'm going to do cardio when really I will be going to Spinning on Monday nights and Strength Training on Wednesday nights.

Photobucket

You disappointed me.

But you're gym is nice and I will enjoy using it for the next 6 weeks at only $10.00!
Then I'm going to join LA Fitness which is opening in the Fall, only 1/2 mile from my house, and will have an Olympic sized pool.

WTF Wednesday CK edition.

WTF Chad Daniel!!!
That made THIS happen last night
This is what happens when you get tattoos. Your GOOEY, bloody, open wound gets all over my sheets and pillow cases!
Which are all WHITE. WTF?!

I'm off now to go buy some new sheets as punishment for his transgressions.

What I got

Hi Everyone! If you're here from Cassie's blog please leave a comment below I'd love to check out my new visitors and if you really like what you see click Follow so we can be friends!
------------

Okay, so I have like 4 blogs in draft status and no time or energy to push them out yet. It's like giving birth I swear SO, here's my favorite kind of blog... Heavy on the pictures, Light on the words.

I finally tried one of these.... it was weirdly good!

Two weeks ago when Morgan and Maddie where here we took a road trip to Aberdeen, Forks, and Port Angeles. It was soooo much fun well, except for the part where I fell down a hill and twisted my ankle. Yea, that was fun.

This was about 2 steps before I fell down a hill. All by myself. No one pushed me.
I am just THAT coordinated.

Alas, no twisted ankle stops me... we then hiked through the woods to get to the Beach.
It was so worth the 45 mins it took me to walk .10 a mile.

Later that night while I should have been sticking my foot up in the air I was at a bar with this bad influence.

The next day when we arrived home my ankle looked totally normal.

Needless to say I have been out of commission on working out and I feel disgusting for it. Good news though I have decided my ankle is healed and I started working out again this weekend! This week is full of exercise classes with my favorite two crazy blonds! Deets to come.

While I was out of order I did make some yummy eats.
The frozen Banana Ice cream on Pinterest is AMAZING! New favorite at our house and totally healthy! Just freeze bananas and process add peanut butter and cocoa if ya really wana have a party in yo mouth!

TRUE BLOOD is back!! What better way to celebrate then having a True Blood party with Cheesy BLOOD dip.

Olive is still working it. Tiny feeeeeet love.

Annnnd the hubs got some new ink. Now, I miss Mississippi.

That's all I got... for now.

Let them eat CAKE!

On Monday night we celebrated our 1 year anniversary with the traditional eating of the year old frozen cake. Looking back on this it could be one of the reasons I got so sick today but since that was Monday and today is Wednesday I don't think I can blame it on the cake. Reguardless I have been sick all morning in the worst ways and I'd really like it to stop.

But back to the cake....

It looked much prettier on the big day.
This is actually a separate small cake that the ladies who did our cake made for us just for our 1 year anniversary.

I had a huge 3 layer cake for the wedding with BIG tiers and I didn't want to save the entire top tier of the actual cake so I asked them to make a separate smaller one. I love this idea and suggest it to everyone whose getting married because they already had it pre wrapped and all we had to do was keep it frozen for a year. This would have been much easier if we didn't take a 5 day road trip across the country with the damn thing. I was a little scared at how it would hold up and on Monday I found out that it did pretty well.

Everyone told us to cut a big slice and eat from the middle. Some say it is the best cake they have ever had and some people say it is absolutely disgusting. I think the people that say it's gross are the ones that eat from the outside (which I probably would have done had friends not told us to eat from the middle) because the outside looked disgusting. I was so scared at what I was about to put into my mouth but as soon as we cut it, it smelled like it did at the wedding! The fresh butter cream and rich chocolate was just as I remembered...it was magical AND I had forgotten that we had Icing in the middle of the cake with mini chocolate chips all throughout the cake. It was time for us to take a bite.

You might have seen this one on Instagram @crazythoughs

and the verdict is....
Thumbs up! The cake was AMAZING I almost cut another slice but then I started to worry I would vomit it all up later, then I wanted to invite all of our friends up here over to taste it but Chad told me that was ridiculous and no one would want to try a year old cake... so we threw the rest away.

PS. The outside was disgusting. Don't do it.

Our official 1 year anniversary picture.
We get dressed up for these kinds of things as you can tell.

We decided we are going to get each other a card every year and write a long note on the inside...then we will keep these cards as well as a picture from that day in a book for our children to look back on one day. I can just see us looking back on this very picture one day I will say, "ohhhh look how YOUNG we once were."

Chad just laughed and all I could think about is that I'm so happy I have him to grow old with.
Love is such a wonderful and elusive thing...never settle for it.

Love doesn't require you to settle but it usually does require you to wait.

1 year.

This time last year I was getting ready to walk down the aisle and marry my best friend. No not Haley…Chad Knight. The most amazing man I have ever met. Now, You may remember this post about the wedding, or this one, or this one, or this one, or this one BUT I have never really gone into details of the big day. Since I already talked about the morning of and getting ready lets skip to the best part…when my best friend threw up in the middle of our vows. Okay, so it wasn’t the BEST part that would be when he told us we could kiss and introduced us for the first time as man and wife. Let’s be honest though… you all want to hear about the vows that made Haley puke.

I remember so clearly standing in the hall of the church that day watching my bridesmaids one by one leave to walk down the aisle. I started getting nervous/excited then. I remember thinking, “This is it, THIS is it!” This entire event that I had been planning for a year and a half was about to happen. I wanted to fully enjoy it so while I watched them go and concentrated on every thing they were doing. Marley was ready to POP, baby Lucas would join us only about a month later... Nicole and Katie were looking beautiful, my new sister in laws: Morgan, Apryle, and Hollye stood there smiling at me telling me it was almost time, my sister was being so sweet it almost brought me to tears, and Kerri was giving me that look of, “It’s all about to happen man!” with that silly grin she does that makes me smile and Haley my Maid of Honor was crouching down on the floor trying not to get sick from a killer migraine that we later decided was all Chick-fil-a's fault. She kept smiling at me and telling me everything was fine that she just needed a second and that she was soooo excited for me. Haley was there for everything at this wedding and I knew that she was getting sick but she was determined to power through it and be by my side smiling.
As they all disappeared down the aisle it got down to just me and after they closed the doors I took my fathers arm and just stood there thinking, “This is it.” When I heard the music change and the doors opened I saw all of my friends and family. It was the sweetest moment that I will never forget it and then I saw Chad. I almost started crying immediately so I had to tilt my head back and focus before we started walking down the aisle. I felt amazing, I felt loved, and most importantly nothing mattered anymore. All the planning, all the stress, all the arguments disappeared.

When my father handed me off to Chad I immediately ditch my beautiful bouquet to my sister which I wasn’t supposed to do yet and put my hand in Chads. We held hands the entire ceremony and even though I was supposed to hold my flowers longer I wouldn’t have it any other way. The preacher started the ceremony and out of the corner of my eye I noticed Haley wasn’t looking to good. Still beautiful but we all know that puke face…and this wasn’t a joke. Not long after the preacher started I watched Haley in SLOW MOTION it felt like gracefully turn her head down to the left and puke. Yes, that really did just happen. My mouth immediately fell open and I mouthed, “ARE YOU OKAY” to her with my eyes wide. She looked at me and nodded and gave me one of those pained smiles because she was BEGGING me to ignore her and focus on the preacher. I remember Chad squeezing my hand and then I refocused on the preacher but I still glanced over at Haley a few times to make sure she wasn’t about to hit the floor. She didn’t thank God
(Let me just explain about Haleys puking in a little more detail because that girl deserves CREDIT. I know that when I throw up I make disgusting noises… I mean you can’t help it. Haley was SILENT. I mean the only reason I knew she puked was because her body did that uplifting thing and then white liquid (Let’s call it stomach acid)  appeared on the floor and a tiny bit down her dress. I was sure our videographer had caught it on camera and that everyone had seen but when we asked people later no one had any idea what we were talking about. Other than our family in the very first row, No one saw! After we got our wedding video back we watched it to see how obvious it was and you can’t even tell, it just looks like she turned her head to sneeze or cry for a moment. THAT girl deserves and award. I thought for sure that I would have been pissed but really it just made such a memory that being mad never even crossed my mind. After the ceremony the first thing I did was walk into the bathroom where she was to check on her (she was puking and making lots of noise this time) but she literally was yelling/begging/crying for me to get out and enjoy the wedding and not worry about her. It was the sweetest moment in our friendship to me even though that sounds completely weird.)

We kept our ceremony and vows pretty generic with the preacher throwing in a few of his own things but the one part that was so special was when Chad sang my wedding song to me. He wrote and recorded this song to be put on our CD favors but would not let me hear it until he sang it that day. I can’t believe that I didn’t ruin my makeup (thanks be to God for waterproof makeup) and most of the photos from that moment have me with my head back and face up to the sky trying to not let the tears start to fall. It was so funny watching the wedding video later and hearing the recording of that moment. I have never heard Chad sing worse, his voice was shaking, and you can feel the nerves. But what’s so perfect is that at that moment it was absolutely perfect. I had no idea his voice was shaking and I loved every moment. He on the other hand is Still pissed that he sounded that nervous and it just makes me feel so special that I am the only one that has ever gotten him that way. He’s played in front of hundreds of people many times but never had his voice shake that much- I’m honored. (Oh, and it isn’t even that bad he is just very dramatic about it) After we said our I Do’s it was time to get the last round of pictures all together… it was my rule that he couldn’t see me until I walked down the isle which looking back on I loved and I hated. It really did take time away from us going to the reception but at the same time I wanted that look on his face and I can happily say, I got it.

To be continued...

------------------------------------

Now, a year later all day today instead of taking bubble baths and getting pretty I have been at work.
Chad was off (lucky duck) and even though it has just been a normal day I can say it has been a wonderful day. Thank you so much to all of our friends and family that gave us sweet words and congratulations. It wasn't expected but it was totally wonderful.

My amazing husband of one year also sent me this today at work:

I have been wanting one of these for Years!!!
It was amazing and I couldn't help but take pictures of my happiness:

Fabulous.

Then I got off work and came home to the sweetest man holding the sweetest card.

With the best wrapped present ever!

But what really matters is what was in the box right....

Michael Kors Rose Gold Watch!!!

Time with you just got that much sweeter!

Tomorrow we will tell you how this tasted after an entire year and a road trip across the country:

I'm going to be optimistic about this...
