Maybe we should all go to Colorado

Right now I'm at Disneyland with my husband but I have had this post ready for awhile and I figure today is as good as any...

In October we took a trip to Denver, CO to visit some friends and explore the city. I've heard great things about Denver and it's been on my must see list for awhile. I was not disappointed. It was one of the most fun filled vacations we have had in awhile. Usually when we travel it's just Chad and I off on our own but this time we had so many friends in the area that we were busy meeting up and exploring with them the entire time! The weather was absolutely fantastic - we just couldn't have asked for a better trip.

We spent 3 Days in Denver and Chad played two shows while we were there. Here are a few photos:

It was a fantastic trip. Some other highlights were Voodoo Doughnuts and Casa Bonita. Yes, the one from South Park. With the cliff divers and all you can eat Mexican food. Chad literally squealed and made us promise to take him to eat there after we visited Red Rocks. It ended up being the funnest time I've had in awhile. Blackbarts cave was better than expected and there was a huge arcade and just tons of fun stuff to do. The food is barely decent so don't go there for that but if you're looking to pretend your 12 again this place is for you! Cliff diving shows every 30 mins y'all!

Thanks for the good time Denver!

Day 2 & 3 - The Redwoods, Pacifica, & San Francisco

I can't believe I'm actually getting to experience and see everything that I am. I have always loved to travel and I have wanted to take a long road trip across the country and more specifically drive the entire West Coast from WA to CA. Actually getting to do it feels like a dream. I keep taking moments out of the day to just stop and look around and thank God for all of these blessings. I met/married the love of my life, I've had the best jobs, I've moved across the country, I've traveled, and well I just keep getting all these things that I've always wanted. Don't get me wrong - I've worked hard for these things but wow, I feel so undeserving. Granted I am still overweight so it ain't all roses over here people. I understand that everyone has issues and problems but I think everyone has blessings too. Celebrate those good moments in life and try not to dwell on the bad.

Now, let me jump off my soap box and get back to traveling! We left Crescent City on Saturday morning and quickly got to our first stop: the Trees of Mystery in Klamath, CA. It was only 16 miles away from where we stayed but driving those 16 miles... and hell the rest of the day was breathtaking. I'm probably going to overuse that word during this trip so, please feel free to leave alternates for me in the comments section below.

This tree had ten other trees growing out of it! This picture sucks but it was absolutely amazing.

I have no idea how I'm going to hold all this and baby one day...

How freaking cute is my dog... she did NOT like the SkyTrail though. It is a gondola ride up to the top of the mountain through the Redwoods and she shook the entire time. We held her close and kept telling her that she was pretty. That did the trick.

After we got back on the ground we made our way through the forest back to the gift shop and on the way there were a lot of neat wood carvings. Here is the only picture I took of them - Chad got a lot more on his phone but I'm to lazy to send them to myself. Ugh I suck.

We were in the woods for about two hours which had us getting into Pacifica, CA late that night -which means 9PM for this old girl. Once we checked in we were walking to our room when this lady came up with her dog and said, "Oh your dog is so cute - would you like this jacket for her? It is too small for my dog and she would look adorable in it!" So, that's the story on how Olive got her new San Francisco jacket! I wish I was so cute that people would just walk up to me and give me things.

The next day we got up and walked around the little beach town - found a Christmas store and I FINALLY found a Pomeranian ornament and the first of many vintage tea cups for my new collection - then we found a dog friendly brunch spot at The Surf Spot. It was delicious and a really BIG place. They had a volleyball court, stage, fire pit, and even gluten free dog treats. Olive ate moss off of a tree in the Redwoods so I stopped the waitress from explaining what they had in them midway as I do not need to know all the ingredients. Just give her the damn treats so she will stop trying to eat my bacon! Olive was not impressed apparently:

After brunch I tried to watch the Seahawks game - that was a fail so then we went into the city to take a few pictures with the Golden Gate Bridge - Alcatraz - and the Full House house. There was a weird mist/haze around the bridge and I couldn't get a good shot on my phone but I got a few on my real camera I might upload later. Below is the Full House house... people live there - they painted it gray and they have packages waiting for them.

And then one of my dreams came true and I saw Alcatraz Island! I wish we could have taken the tour so badly -- next time for sure!

Then it was time for Chads show at Brainwash Cafe!

It was a great show and they had YUMMY food. If you follow me on Instagram you can keep up with all my workout and food eating there... @crazythoughs

Once we got back to our hotel Chad wanted to go to the beach for a late night walk so, I put on as many layers of clothing as I could and wore my fancy water shoes. I am so fine.

We had to climb down a rock cliff to get to the beach but it was worth it. It was freezing but absolutely beautiful. I love the beach.

That about covers the last two days!

The Holidays in picture form

So, I didn't get to post anything the last 2 weeks of 2011.
Why you ask? We were traveling, eating, busy, and I was just plain lazy about blogging.
But now I am going to speed through about 3 weeks of fun by showing you pictures, Enjoy:

Before we left to fly home to Mississippi we had our Christmas!

eeek Tiffanys Blue Box!
I didn't force him to write that...swear.

Oh I have longed, waited, and yearned for you K!
Best Christmas Ever!

Then my stocking: full of JUNK.

Funny thing though, we both got each other the same stocking stuffer!
Now that's love.

The Next morning it was time to wake up and go to Mississippi - by way of public transport

On the bus... then the light link...then the planes.

However, before the planes CK had a little run in with TSA

I went through security with no problem, but they thought he had a weapon so he had a full body cavity search done. Just kidding they went through his entire book bag filled with tshirts and cds to find his Capo that they thought was a weapon. No ladies, hes famous didn't you know? That's for his guitar not for killing.

I can see how they were confused it looks like this:
Kyser Quick-Change Capo - Black
Totally a gun.

CK refused to let me eat on the plane rides either so all I survived on were these little babies for 9 hours:
Delta has the best cookies.

But then we were back and I got to spend lots of time with this pretty face!

I also got to spend time with Amanda... and I didn't even get a picture with her BUT we did hang out and help her with her newest art project:
How cool is this!? Curtains with a cool pattern that she decided to have people color in!

Then my Gran tried to get my fashion up to speed with 2011...
Scarfs around the waist is totally popular right now. Thanks Gran for bringing me up to speed!

We stayed in Jackson, MS for the first few days but then it was time to head down to Laurel to see the rest of our friends and CK's side of our family. This time was filled with Lots of the following:

Morgan my sister-in-law took 700 picture on my phone using CAMWOWs Crazy face maker thing...
Morgan in all her glory
Me as a Cone Head... More to come later in the post

CK helped his mom finish decorating their beautiful tree by putting only his homemade childhood ornaments (the ones with pictures of him) on the entire top of the tree. This sparked the conversation about him being the favorite in the family while Morgan cried helplessly in the corner and his Mom giggling that CK is/was the best child ever. Haha that might have been the funniest conversations I have ever heard in my life.

I was sure he was going to pull a ELF and hop onto the tree at any moment.

We did have to stay in Morgans old room... which is entirely pepto bismal PINK. The sheets, the walls, the pillows... I was in Pink Hell.

I got to see Marley and Matt and Baby Lucas while we were there! I didn't take any pictures with them but I did get CK holding a the baby and it is the sweetest thing I have ever seen. Now I want a child even more haha

So handsome! (Both of them!)

We also ate nothing but junk food and SUGAR the entire week... I felt like crap.
Can't a girl get some broccoli!?

We kissed under the Mistletoe

And then Morgan took more crazy pictures at EVERY family event we attended:

Cousin Maribeth who Loves Justin Bieber... (sorry about that last post girl lol)
Cousin Andrew
MIL & Morgan
My turn

Did I mention that there were Nutcrackers everywhere? My MIL loves them and has about 80 different once all over the house and no telling how man on her trees (yes, trees she has her very own nutcracker tree)
Even on the napkins

Morgan made the coolest Gingerbread house I have ever seen too:
She's a genius even if she isn't the favorite (haha)

We also went to Church several times and took pictures of ourselves

I also got to see my father while home
My Step Mom and him drove down to have Christmas with us one day so that was a lot of fun!

CK also had a CD Release party while we were in Laurel and he got some press from a local news station that did a piece on him - which you can see HERE -
Filming the show

Congrats on the Engagement to our amazing friends Harvey and Nicole!!!
Yay for my girlfriends!
After the show we went back to the MIL's house and had a S'more party!

We didn't even burn the house down this time.

Baby S'more!

We cook s'mores with balance and strength!

And now the rest of Christmas photos that I'm to lazy to put in order:
At Grandmothers house for Christmas

My sweet girls

And the rest of Morgans Crazy photos:

She is never allowed to have my phone again, but these pictures where the Hit of Christmas- everyone was dying out laughing at them.

Going home was great, we were exhausted and ready to get back in our own bed but overall I just can't imagine not going home for Christmas. I think moving away makes it an even better holiday!

Then it was time for NYE and My 25th Birthday... yea I'm old as dirt. Blahhh.
My mom and uncle drove up just in time to celebrate with us (my mom just moved here if you missed that in a previous post) and it was great having them around to try and keep me from crying on my 25th. (I usually always cry on my birthday- I just hate that day... I try to get excited about it every year but I just usually end up crying and wishing for the day to pass. Very sad)

They tried to cheer me up with Cheesecake and presents... smart people.

CK decided he wanted the brownies and Ice Cream.... I told him it wasn't his birthday but he didn't care.
I got this monster Cake-Cheesecake-brownie thing. It was stellar.

I got this as my present from the hubs and It is HUGE and just what I wanted!
Good Job hunny bunny.

We finished the night up with a trip to the casino where they GAVE me $70.00 bucks in cash for being a new member and some other perks.. should have just left right then but we gambled and I lost all $70 Oh well, wasn't ever Really my money right?

Then we went shopping and completed my mission of making my bed the most comfortable and prettiest in the world. Olive is modeling the new down comforter below:
She thinks she owns everything. Skank.

Thanks to my Uncle Eddie for driving with my mom across the country and being with me for like the first time ever for my birthday!

It snowed a little that day too!

Mom under her rainbow!

The holidays (like this blog post) are exhausting but well worth it.
I hope everyone had a great one like we did!
