"Dad burned the Turkey"

We go home for Christmas on Saturday! Things are as usual crazy busy but at the top of my list for my resolutions is to stop being a lazy blogger. I feel like I open every post with that now... yuck. You're probably sick of my excuses well then go find another blog because that's all I got!

However, if you give up on me you might never find out the following AMAZING FACT:

Denny's gives you a FREE Grand Slam on your Birthday! (valid ID needed) The only reason I stumbled across this gem is because CK is making me go to Denny's tonight as part of a *NEW* Christmas tradition. We were watching the Santa Clause the other night and he got all excited and was like, "We should go eat at Denny's one night before Christmas and get chocolate milk!" I'm all like, "Fine." I have to use all of my energy, strength, and willpower to not order this tonight:

Stuffed Grill Cheese
and these Red Velvet Pancake Puppies...
Looks like that hits all of the main food groups right?

Oh, and my Birthday is coming up on the 31st and you know where I'm going to be that morning...getting my free grand slam on!

The reason for the Season

I have been feeling EXTRA festive this year and I'm not exactly sure why other than the fact that life is good. This year started out rocky with lots of stress but with faith and hard work it's ending on a very sweet note. I can't wait to go home and spoil all of our family with goodies this year! However, let's not forget the real reason for Christmas.... no not food but giving to others and loving your fellow man. As a Christian this holiday means a lot to me and has always been a celebrated one (mainly for the presents) but as I get older and family becomes more and more important the real reason for the season is shining through and I am so thankful.

One tradition Chad and I do every year is buying gifts for children that won't have a Christmas without them. I wish I had a million dollars to spend every Christmas for these families but we do what we can:

The start of all the loot... I only wish I could see their faces when they get them.

I strongly urge everyone to get a least ONE gift for the needy this year. No matter how big or how small you will be bringing joy to someone who needs it this year.

Speaking of small... I was browsing People magazine the other day and came across the most disturbing picture ever:
Umm... the pose, the panties, the smirk. EW! Ryan I used to love you now you make me want to vomit...and it's a TWO page spread... look at those hairy thighs... it's like a train wreck.

Now back to someone I do love!
My furbaby turned 3 Saturday! Stop growing up Olive... I can't help but freak out a little bit that she is getting older. I want her to stay a puppy forever!!!

Busy Times

I've been so busy doing lots of things. I'm actually kinda proud at how productive I have been but I have been ignoring the blog. There just aren't enough hours in the day but here's what I have been up to:

(Note my disgusting husbands notes he high jacked my very professional calender. Rude)

I had a week or three of bad eating and not working out as much as I should have but that my friends has come to an end. I give you the 21 Day Challenge or a just workout schedule. It's just something that I can hold myself more accountable for and so far it's been working! I took this picture the other day but you can mentally mark off days 4-7 right now. I've also been eating really clean and I'm pretty excited I actually ate correct portions this week instead the normal troughs. Stupid tater tots. I kinda had a little obsession with them for a couple of weeks and well life goes on. So between going to work, working out, showering, and cooking dinner I'm pretty much beat for the night. I'll try to get quicker at all of those things so I can add back blogging to the schedule.

Speaking of eating right, look what I made tonight! My homemade low fat version of the Smart One's Baked Ziti - the only frozen "healthy meal" I love:

Easy Recipe:

1 box of ziti noodles, 1 jar of spaghetti sauce, and Mozzarella Cheese.

You Boil the noodles then pour them into the pan. Then add the jar of spaghetti sauce and stir around until all noodles have been touched. I like to season this with garlic salt (add to your liking) and then you sprinkle on oh say 1/2 cup of Mozzarella cheese on top. Cover the pan with aluminum foil and then bake at 350 for 20 minuets. Take the pan out of the oven and then stir around the pasta and place back into the oven for 5 more minuets. Then take the pasta out of the oven and take the aluminum foil off of the top. Turn the oven off and the broiler on sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top and broil until bubbly. Only a few moments...watch it closely or it will burn! Take out of the oven and enjoy!

According to my rough estimations this has:
295 Calories, 5.4 grams of Fat,  13.6 grams of Protein in 8 servings.

DID you know that Christmas Trees (real ones) look like THIS in Washington!?
Screw pine needles...that is amazing.
