Thanksgiving Recap

I've enjoyed reading all of the weekend recaps from several of you lovely bloggers and I thought, "Hey, why not me?" Two snaps if you get that Russell Wilson joke. Speaking of.... GO HAWKS. In case you are wondering I am a Seattle fan as well as a New Orleans fan (Yes, they all hate on me and say I jumped bandwagons but I don't care because I think living in Seattle for over 3 years gives me a right to LOVE THEM TOO) and I recently started REALLY liking football in the last five-ish years. I just love the athleticism. It makes me want to go workout and I support anything that makes me want to go and do that. So, just so you know who I'm talking about in case you live under a rock here is the dreamy, chocolaty sweet, Russell Wilson.

Oh and he chills with Jay & B all the time ... no big.

He is basically a saint... he goes to visit sick children at the Children's hospital in Seattle every Tuesday (his off day) and he is just always doing nice things. Stand up guy that one! Anyways - he WAS a part of my Thanksgiving as he almost made Colin Kaepernick cry when he beat his ass in San Francisco Thanksgiving day. Man that was a GREAT game - hopefully this means Seattle is back to kicking ass... the start of the season wasn't that hot. I mean we LOST to the Cowboys... ugh.

Before the game though we did a whole bunch of stuff in prep to head to our friends house to spend Thanksgiving with them. Not sure how it happened but I ended up having one of the BEST Thanksgivings ever and I didn't even cook that much. I started my day off with a killer kickboxing class and then I promptly went home and made sausage balls and homemade pop tarts. Holy crap, it was all SO GOOD and I am obviously rusty on this blogger business... I forgot to take a picture of my pop tarts and chocolate pie. #FAIL

After that we loaded up our treats and headed to Carnation, WA which reminds me so much of MS I can't handle it. It's in the valley about 35 mins to the East of Kirkland, WA so you are surrounded by mountains, the most beautiful land and a tiny little town. We love it and all our friends out there. I'm pretty bummed that will probably be our last trip to see them but I'm definitely taking great memories back with me. Below are some pictures from the day...

Sausage balls!
 Safety first!
 Jarred's 100% Organic
The aftermath of cracking over 10lbs of Alaskan King Crab!
Did I mention we had King Crab, Turkey, Ham, and DUCK... yea I totally felt like an adult and Chad was given the task of cutting all the meat! Butchers come in handy during carving season. There was also about 20 people there... of course I took pictures of no one... ugh.
Acting like I eat like a bird... *Not pictured* PIE.

Thanksgiving was my cheat day and I think I did pretty good! I ate about 3 more rolls, hummus, cheese, pie, cake, mac n cheese, and some other things that I can't quite remember. I gained a little over 4lbs but I'm so not worried about it. My scale is actually not working right now as the battery has died and while a tad panicked, I feel it's for the best. Chad better fix it before this weekend though or I WILL GO INTO MELT DOWN "I'M GAINING ALL THE WEIGHT" MODE. I just have to know... it's such an unhealthy relationship.

The rest of the weekend was spent trying to work out, (I left all my crap in the wrong car so didn't make it to kickboxing on Saturday) painting, packing, cooking, and cleaning. I didn't know what day it was a couple of times and I read like 5 crap books because I like reading the free ones Kindle gives me. Although, I just started Gone Girl... should finish that this week if I don't get distracted by anything else... oh look glitter.

The day after Thanksgiving I made sure to pour soap into the leftover frosting and I sent Chad to work with all the leftovers. Other than a run in with some rogue semi-sweet chocolate chips Sunday night I have been back on track! A few doubles at kickboxing this week should have me back in action. (More on Kickboxing tomorrow!) My end of year goal is to lose only 4 more little pounds. I've been stuck in the same place for awhile so I'm hoping with the ramped up workouts and strict eating I can finally break through and start of 2015 40lbs LIGHTER than I did 2014. I just gotta hit that 40! ONLY FOUR MORE POUNDS.

It was a great weekend and now I only have 3 weeks left in the PAC NW... so bittersweet.

Christmas Cravings & Questions

  1.  VIETRI because I can't ever get enough dishes.
  2. Amazon gift cards
  3. Jewels
  4. Hunter boots
  5. Art. I want this and this.

1. How is your Christmas shopping coming along?
Mine is going pretty well and while I know what I'm getting everyone but I haven't bought anything yet. Typical.
2. Who is the hardest person you have to buy for?
The hardest person to buy for would have to be the men in the family. I feel so bad always lumping their gift into a "couples" gift. I'm always on the lookout but I don't ever see anything that catches my eye. What do you guys get for your fathers/brother in laws/ uncles etc?
3. What is your favorite Etsy shop?
I LOVE small businesses and supporting good ones is my favorite thing to do - I'm obsessed with MadebyBettyB. She does the most BEAUTIFUL dream catchers and other lovely things. So talented and unique. Check out her latest idea for a Dream Catcher Christmas Card holder! I NEED one of these! Oh, and follow her on Instagram @madebybettyb to get special discounts and sales!

4. Homemade or Store bought gifts?
Homemade if it's something useful and/or something you know they will love. Store bought is nice but less personal and I think the whole point of a gift is to be special.

5. Best or most memorable gift you have ever recieved?
The first thing that pops into my mind is my Easybake oven when I was 4 or 5 years old. Maybe it's because I have that Christmas morning on video tape or the fact that at 5 I knew chocolate cake was a perfect 5AM breakfast. That was a fun Christmas.

I tag CASSIE - PAULA - LAURA - LINDSEY - NATALIE - CELY and anyone else that wants to answer these 5 questions! Happy First day of December - only 24 days left until Christmas!

Deals #buyallthethings

I'm all out of whack with what day it is... I seriously thought today was Saturday up until I started writing this blog and it's only Friday. Yay for long weekends and not knowing what's going on! What's my name again? Anyways, what I do know is deals and I've got some for you guys.

First off - I didn't step foot out of my house on Black Friday which is JUST what the Doctor ordered but I did do a little online shopping / shopping planning. Here is what I found:

HOLD UP: Lets take a moment and talk about Ebates. If you shop online at all and don't use this site yet go slap yourself right now. That sounds mean but I'm serious you are throwing money out the door. I am still mad at myself I only just found this site because I could have saved SO MUCH MONEY over the last few years it is disgusting. (Thanks a lot sister who assumed I was already doing Ebates and didn't tell me.) #Rude

Anyways - long story short you just sign up and then every time you shop online go to ebates first and then click the store through there and you will get the % of cash back that is valid for that shopping trip. I've earned over $100 CASH in the last 3 months that I have been doing this.. 8% cash back at Sephora - 6% cash back on my groupon purchases - it ADDS UP! Not to mention the referral bonuses which are nice and they change quarterly. Just take my word for it and go sign up right now! They even give you $5.00 free after your first purchase. It's easy, it's free, and it's idiot proof.
Examples of the double CASH BACK bonuses going on right now:

Now back to shopping...

GAP - 50% off EVERYTHING using colde Blkfriday  + if you join Ebates you will get 12% back ON TOP of that 50% off - that's getting 62% off of your entire purchase... sweaters here I come!

Quest Nutrition - I'm obsessed with quest bars and they are having a deal on Cyber Monday! FREE Shipping and 25% off Everything using code: CYBERUS or CYBERINT if you're not in the USA you still get 25% off but shipping isn't free.

POPSUGAR must have BOX - I've been getting this box for a few months now and have NEVER been disappointed. I love it's full size products and they are having a KILLER deal until Sunday 11/30 with the following codes:

Try it - your first box would only be $25 with the 15 off code and it's the December box! I can't wait to see what the treat us with for Christmas... #addicted

MadebyBettyB Etsy Store - Dream catchers / Christmas ornaments / handmade jewelry this store is one of my favorites. Basically everyone I know that has a baby is getting a custom dream catcher because they are so freaking adorable and unique I can't help myself. I love them - I want them all - and one of my very talented best friends owns and makes all of these lovely things. Shop small business and support local business this time of year - follow her on Instagram @madebymettyb for her SALE she is launching TONIGHT at 7pm CST. (11/29/14) Also, look out for the discount code she will put up after the flash sale that will be good on her website! Below are a just a few of my purchases over the last year...not including the ones that she is finishing up now! I just LOVE her stuff...

RUBY STELLA - I have been too cheap to buy from this site yet but dang it today might be the day! I found this site after stalking some of my favorite celebs - everyone who's anyone wears these kinds of jewels and I mean, I NEED some myself ya know. Complete and utter necessity...

Today you can get 30% off with the code: THANKSGIVING

And that's all for now... Chad just got off work early and I want to go make out with him.
Happy Shopping!
