It's kinda funny to think about how we got up and left our lives and everything we have ever known to move out to Seattle; and it was one of the best choices I have ever made in my life.
We always say we don't know where life will lead us (maybe we will move back, maybe we will move somewhere else) and while it has only been a little under 2 months I just don't see us moving anywhere else again. I am in love with Seattle and the thing that has ultimately set me in stone is the job that I have now.
I have never felt so comfortable, needed, helpful, fulfilled, and HAPPY going to work in my life. In my past jobs I knew, "I don't want to make this my career" but with this one... I can't imagine ever leaving! The company is absolutely amazing, the people I work with are top notch, and the benefits are the best I've ever gotten. There is tons of room for moving up and they have already talked to me about promotions in the future and different opportunities within the company as it continues to grow like crazy. Not to mention my boss is a complete Motivator. What that means is I get told (and everyone else) all the time how good of a job we are doing. I've worked for a lot of bosses and I've been lucky with having very good ones but I have never had one that is so... positive and motivating! If/when I am ever a "boss" one day that's exactly what I am going to strive to be: Motivational not Intimidating.

Yesterday, my awesome coworkers even took me out to a welcome to the family lunch. We went to this really neat sushi place (aa Sushi) like the neat ones you see on TV with the conveyor belts that have sushi plates rolling around on them and you just pluck off what you want!
So, neat I managed to snap a picture without them making fun of me too much:

It was pretty good, we went at lunch time where everything is a $1.50 so you can't beat that. I'm not much of a sushi lover (mostly due to it being cold, I like warm things) but I enjoyed a side of sticky rice, edamame, pork dumplings, and these little cream puff things for desert.
I just can't explain enough how much of a little family it feels like I have at work.
When I got home yesterday I had to get ready for one of CK's shows in downtown Seattle by the University at Cafe Allegro it was a cute little coffee shop in a back ally with a room on top where the bands play and they pump the music out into the streets and down below to the coffee shop. Very cool place and you had to take 2 flights of stairs in this old downtown building to get to the upper room. Things like that make me fall in love with cities, it's like your own secret nooks.

Every time I watch him sing it reminds me how talented he is and how much he deserves to make it.

Now this morning:
I woke up to realize my babies were playing!
USM vs. Houston
Houston is the bain of my existence I fucking HATE THEM. I hope their stadium BURNS down one day and they eat the shit that they are. Yes, it's that seriously of a hatred. In 2006 I went to Houston to watch USM play them for the same title they are playing for today and they were awful fans/city/cops/everything. They beat us on the football field then they threw rocks, ice, cups, beer, basically everything but bullets at everyone and anyone wearing USM attire. It was a big deal when we all go back to USM the next week, it was on the news and from that horrible experience I decided Never to go back to that shit hole of a city. Well my Eagles are there now and they are KICKING THAT ASS! We are actually getting the game up here on TV so I am watching right now and hoping they finish out strong and hand a big L to the biggest POS school in the south! GO SOUTHERN MISS! Oh and WHEN USM WINS they wreck Houston's #8 ranking and screw them out of a bowl game... YAY!!!!! I hate you Houston.
Oh how I wish I was there with you eagles! Do it up!
Currently they are So. Miss - 42 / Houston - 21
Now, I'm off to the gym to finish watching the game then a full day of shopping/Christmas activities!

Your post today made me smile...BIG! I love the fervor in which you talked about your hatred of Houston. I could feel it. It was THAT much more fun reading it, since USM won so big. I was so proud of those Golden Eagles!!! Also, I "liked" your husband's FB page. I was happily surprised to see that my niece was already a fan. She lives in Monroe, LA. Small world, huh?
ReplyDeleteThat is so neat!! Yes, Houston just brings out rage inside of me. LOL! I'm sooo excited they won and so excited you liked his FB page! That is such a small world about your niece but I just LOVE that...I know that it just put a huge smile on CK's face when I told him..it's just all about exposure and getting people to listen with music! <3
