I'm so pumped the Seahawks won the Superbowl! Since we moved here over two years ago we started rooting for the hawks. As avid Saints lovers we sometimes receive a lot of crap for this but you know what I have TWO teams and I love them both. The hawks did amazing last year and this year it was just magic. It reminded me so much of when the Saints won their first ring and I'm just so pumped for them!
It was an awesome game but I'll be honest I felt like the 49ers were WAY harder to beat in the division championship. Either way - whatever I'm not that into stats and crap so I'll just leave you with a GO HAWKS and this amazing Buzzfeed...
It's kinda funny to think about how we got up and left our lives and everything we have ever known to move out to Seattle; and it was one of the best choices I have ever made in my life.
We always say we don't know where life will lead us (maybe we will move back, maybe we will move somewhere else) and while it has only been a little under 2 months I just don't see us moving anywhere else again. I am in love with Seattle and the thing that has ultimately set me in stone is the job that I have now.
I have never felt so comfortable, needed, helpful, fulfilled, and HAPPY going to work in my life. In my past jobs I knew, "I don't want to make this my career" but with this one... I can't imagine ever leaving! The company is absolutely amazing, the people I work with are top notch, and the benefits are the best I've ever gotten. There is tons of room for moving up and they have already talked to me about promotions in the future and different opportunities within the company as it continues to grow like crazy. Not to mention my boss is a complete Motivator. What that means is I get told (and everyone else) all the time how good of a job we are doing. I've worked for a lot of bosses and I've been lucky with having very good ones but I have never had one that is so... positive and motivating! If/when I am ever a "boss" one day that's exactly what I am going to strive to be: Motivational not Intimidating.
Yesterday, my awesome coworkers even took me out to a welcome to the family lunch. We went to this really neat sushi place (aa Sushi) like the neat ones you see on TV with the conveyor belts that have sushi plates rolling around on them and you just pluck off what you want!
So, neat I managed to snap a picture without them making fun of me too much:
It was pretty good, we went at lunch time where everything is a $1.50 so you can't beat that. I'm not much of a sushi lover (mostly due to it being cold, I like warm things) but I enjoyed a side of sticky rice, edamame, pork dumplings, and these little cream puff things for desert.
I just can't explain enough how much of a little family it feels like I have at work.
When I got home yesterday I had to get ready for one of CK's shows in downtown Seattle by the University at Cafe Allegro it was a cute little coffee shop in a back ally with a room on top where the bands play and they pump the music out into the streets and down below to the coffee shop. Very cool place and you had to take 2 flights of stairs in this old downtown building to get to the upper room. Things like that make me fall in love with cities, it's like your own secret nooks.
Every time I watch him sing it reminds me how talented he is and how much he deserves to make it.
CK also had a few new fans... of the bum variety they really enjoyed his show (ha)
Put him to Sleep son!

Now this morning:
I woke up to realize my babies were playing!
USM vs. Houston
Houston is the bain of my existence I fucking HATE THEM. I hope their stadium BURNS down one day and they eat the shit that they are. Yes, it's that seriously of a hatred. In 2006 I went to Houston to watch USM play them for the same title they are playing for today and they were awful fans/city/cops/everything. They beat us on the football field then they threw rocks, ice, cups, beer, basically everything but bullets at everyone and anyone wearing USM attire. It was a big deal when we all go back to USM the next week, it was on the news and from that horrible experience I decided Never to go back to that shit hole of a city. Well my Eagles are there now and they are KICKING THAT ASS! We are actually getting the game up here on TV so I am watching right now and hoping they finish out strong and hand a big L to the biggest POS school in the south! GO SOUTHERN MISS! Oh and WHEN USM WINS they wreck Houston's #8 ranking and screw them out of a bowl game... YAY!!!!! I hate you Houston.
Oh how I wish I was there with you eagles! Do it up!
Currently they are So. Miss - 42 / Houston - 21
Now, I'm off to the gym to finish watching the game then a full day of shopping/Christmas activities!
In case you live under a rock I'm here to let you know that it's Football season.
In the South there is no such thing as Fall (its just too damn hot all the time) so it was replaced a few years ago as Football season and you don't come between a Southerner and football season.
Granted, I like this "football" season but you can come between me and it... especially if you have a nice cold beverage in your hand. Some things I like about football: first things first the food (yes, I said it), the booze (yup, went there too), and the sexy men running really fast down the field with that cute little brown egg shaped ball. I'm pretty easy to please; I guess football to me is like Hooters for men.
Judge me if you must.
I saw the most adorable play earlier when I was at the gym watching the Patriot & Chargers game:
This little chubby angel intercepted the ball and ran as fast as his little heart could take him earlier and seeing this brightened my day. This defiantly goes in my most favorite football moments EVER book! I love it when chubbies get their moment in the spotlight, that's probably because that's most likely what I look like when running and us chubs gotta stick together! I hope he took that football home with him I know I would have.
------------------------------------------
Last night we also had another run in with football. The Hubs, Me, Katelynn, and Drew tried to go tailgate and to the USM game. Like I told you all before it was going to be hard to ever go to another game after the VIP treatment I received the last time. CK got off work late and made us miss the tailgating and I didn't want to go into the game late either so, we ended up at The End Zone a local sports bar right across from campus. Que the good times:
Kate & getting driven to the game (bar)
Her turn to be pretty, my turn to be weird (like I need a turn)
It's been a really a fun weekend and I'm so glad I got to spend it with Katelynn! Who says that you have to go to an actual football game to have fun? Take me to the Bar!
And since I did 4.6 miles on the bike tonight at the gym I made these babies:
No Bake Cookies
Chad says they look like poop. I say they look like heaven!
I totally left you guys on a cliff hanger and due to bullshit I have to leave you hanging until Monday on this topic. It's still life changing, some of you may already know, but it just can't be Internet official just yet. Monday people, Monday I swear!
Mississippi as we all know is one of the healthiest states in the country with culinary innovations that make the rest of the world jealous.
The Hubs had a gig last night in Hattiesburg at this place called Downtown Grill & Grocery. It was a teeny tiny place filled with people and the smell of fried fatty goodness floating in the air. They offered a crappy variety of beer but an amazing assortment of food that will make you fat and question your goals about fitness and life in general. Oh, and slap your Momma.
I was too drunk to take pictures of the actual food from the place so I did some Internet stalking and ripped these from the web. AKA Thanks Google. Don't judge me. The husband will not let me handle nice cameras when I don't even understand how to turn it on after copious amounts of wine and beer.
I will say I did not eat all of this..but I tried everything and I am fatter because of it. Why is it that you can fry anything and it makes it better. I really don't eat a lot of fried foods but good Lord sometimes they are just amazing! Not to mention I looked like a coke addict with all of that powdered sugar on me. Seriously, that is the messiest food ever created I think there's still sugar in my hair.
All of this healthy eating took place after the shows so we are talking around 1:30am. Great for healthy eating just a fantastic job there Terri. The start of the night was filled with walking around downtown stopping for a slice of pizza and a few glasses of wine and then back to the show. It was a good time filled with fun friends which is just how I like to start my weekend... enjoy random pictures below:
Disclaimer: We were already drunk-eyed and trying to not look ridiculous.
Michelle my bell
Trying to get the flower and not look terrible.
Blurry Drew & CDK
We are just awkward.
Katelynn came to see me! (She's here all weekend expect to see a lot of her)
Smashley
The boys doing there thang.
Lesson that was learned last night? Take pictures BEFORE you get drunk and wonky-eyed.
---------------------------
I did do good today though. Got back in the gym after a week off (Shame on me) and we are getting ready to see our other good friend Marley and baby Lucas! Then it's to the USM game tonight!
Last night was absolutely fantastic! The weather was a rainy mess but we had a football game to attended and free beers to drink. I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi back in 09' and I have been to many, many southern games; however, never in the style that I experienced last night! I don't know if I will ever be able to go to another game again unless I get suite box seats because I just don't have the words to explain out awesome it was.
Cue the old photos from graduation 2009:
I miss college all the time- my life has just gotten better and better since but I'll always look back at those days and give them the acknowledgement as "The best time of my life." Or maybe I'll just say that about my 20's - they really have rocked.
Now, back to football. We have a tropical depression currently on top of us and have been getting nothing but rain and wind for the last 2 days. I love rain and wind so I'm not so much annoyed with this other than the fact that I have to wear my hair curly and it's shorter now and not as cute when it's curly. I had to get my extensions taken out and I'm currently debating on getting them put back in or not.. that however, is a whole different story. I had gotten tickets from my boss for the first USM game of the season for last night in the suite box that our company has at the stadium. This was a new part of the stadium that was built my senior year in college and I never got the chance to watch a game living the VIP lifestyle. I was always in the student section sneaking in vodka and trying to get on TV not eating and drinking for free with the big dogs. Well, that allll changed last night! Finally my luck is shifting and people are starting to realize I'm kinda a big deal. (Insert laughter now) Let me just shut up and post pictures:
First picture time with my bayyybay Miss Olive
Aren't we adorable
This was after running about a 1/2 mile in the rain after parking.
We didn't get the VIP parking sadly- not that big of a fish yet.
Out in our private seating balcony area in front of the suite.
In the picture before this one you can see this area behind us.
Here they come!
Our view for the game! Notice all the water on the field.
Chad taking a game watching break to watch the LSU game on the TV in the suite
The BEST thing about the suite?
Not the free food, free beer, awesome seats, no.. it is the AMAZING private bathrooms!!! haha
The 2am drive home after a ton of beer and wine.
Southern won in a way to close for comfort game but hey, I'll take it! 19-17
Southern Miss To The Top!
Now, I've got to go get ready for the gym. No running today my body is beat from yesterday but I think some nice cross training will work out the kinks.
I did it guys! 4 miles today at the gym...well really it was 4.25 but I had to take a .25 minuet walk break at the 2 mile mark. I'm a little aggravated with myself that I had to stop and walk. I wanted to do a whole "run"RUNNING; however, I've noticed on other blogs that I read/love everyone says there is no shame in slowing down for a minuet to walk but I don't know there is something special about being able to run Solid miles (not stopping).
Let me say though it is by sheer mental ass kicking that I got finished with those miles. I tried to quit at least 43 times starting with at the finishing of mile one. I was thinking, "Damn it I have to run 3 more miles..." I wasn't breathing good and my legs felt stiff but I powered through and by the middle of the second mile I promised myself that when I finished 2 miles I could take a walk break and see how I felt. I was seriously debating on stopping at 2 miles and trying again tomorrow but after my quarter mile walk break I felt good and wanted to keep going- I decided to run three miles. Then the metal pep talk started again and I said, "Okay, if you can just make it to mile three you can quit and we will just accept that and go home." Those steps sucked, I felt myself slouching and I was tried of holding my arms up. Does anyone else get that way with there arms? Am I the only one that gets so bored with them and then the start feeling heavy and you just wish they were gone all together? Well, basically I was just getting bitchier and crappier at running as the minuets went by. I tried to straighten up and finish the 3 miles strong and eventually right before I hit 3 miles I was feeling good again. (I have to say this might have been the most inner dialog I have ever had with myself when running) I thought to myself, "You should go to at least 3.5 you're feeling good again." and then Take it to the House came on my Ipod and I was pumped! That song is like the ultimate energy booster to me and it was the extended play so that meant for the next five Min's and some seconds that I was gonna be Taking it to da houseee... Yes Sir! By the time that song was over I was almost to 3.5 and I told myself, "Dude your at 3.5 that's basically 4 miles finish it so that you won't look like a bitch on your blog AND you don't have to run ANY tomorrow if you don't feel like it- if you do 4 miles you can just cross train." It worked. I finished the 4 miles then did a cool down .25. Overall, I'd give that workout a 6 out of 10 because I'm still kinda sad I didn't run the 4 miles straight but then again compared to what I used to could do-- 4.24 miles is a hell of a long way.
Now it's time to lay around and eat chocolate until the USM game tonight! We've got a tropical storm brewing down here but mommas got suite box seats and a warm room to watch the game in tonight! I'll be sure to get lots of pictures, I'm totally excited to go to MY school VIP style.
