Funny things

I've been doing a lot of fun things this week which totally explains my lack in posting. However, I'm trying to get back in the swing of things and I've even started using windows live writer. I'm confused currently and to lazy to try and figure everything out tonight so, mayybeee that will happen this weekend? Who knows, all I know is that I have been working out like crazy, eating too much chocolate, spending time with good friends, doing shitty new projects at work that SUCK, and I got our wedding pictures in! (That is another whole can of worms that I also have to sit on the computer and figure out how to post in order to please my family and friends.) I swear I will blog more and post those damn pictures by Sunday but during the week I'm just not into it. I'm tired, I'm focused on going to work, tanning, gym, (Hell no to the laundry I make Chad do that shit) watching my shows, and cooking food for me to eat. I'll get to the pictures this weekend (which is already slammed full of activities: shows & football) and I'll figure out my way around windows live writer later... hopefully. I also want to read the latest Sookie Stackhouse book which I've been wanting to do since May. Yea, that has been going good I'm on page 31.

Funny thing #1
However, in the midst of my hectic life I did have time to do something funny today. (Well, I think it's funny) Does everyone remember the Facebook game when all the girls started posting colors as their status and no one knew why for a long time and it turned out to be to raise awareness for brest cancer. Well, there is a NEW thing and it was too good to ignore:

HAHAHA you guys are Hilarious.

Funny thing #2
One of my shows I am obsessed with is Big Brother on CBS. Love Love Love it.
Hate this bitch though and she was Evicted tonight! (Squeeel) It's so FUNNY because she is just a LIAR like no other and she has a little girl that is watching her basically be Satan and she got evicted right after making her BIG move. Dumbass. HA HA HA.

On another note - Running has been fantastic the last 2 weeks. I did my long run on Sunday 3.5 miles and Saturday I plan on doing my long run for this week 4.0 miles. I haven't been able to do that since right before the wedding back in June. I'm back bitches and I feel great. I really really really want to focus on losing more weight so I need to put the damn chocolate down and back away from the bar. Wish me luck people. However, I'm warning you now I'm totally going nuts Saturday night after my long run with tailgating and drinking (my job rocks sometimes and I get to go to the game in the box suite at my Alma mater the University of Southern Mississippi and party like a rockstar FO FREEE!) so, I can't really expect myself to have much self control but hey, after 4 miles and 800 something calories burned I can have at least 8 Michelob Ultras right?

How busy is your life right now?

Are you going to any football games this weekend?

Ballyhoo!

It’s Monday again… don’t we all just LOVE Mondays? Mines been pretty shitty so far but one thing that’s making it a little better is music from one of my favorite bands:

No, for those of you in south Mississippi I’m not talking about that store that carries Vera Bradley and Yellow Box shoes on the side of 49N they are a band and a pretty damn good one at that. Defiantly way better than yellow box shoes. (Yuck) Ballyhoo! is a band out of Aberdeen, Maryland and they have been touring the last few years non-stop. I had the chance to see them but stupidly “had too many” and missed their show 2 years ago on 4/20. I curse myself every single day for that but the fact was I didn’t know who the hell they were at that time but now, well that’s a different story. These guys have gotten me through many, many miles running and lots of road trip miles driving. Their infectious sound makes me long for summer and doing nothing but having a good time with some good friends. They recently played with 311 & Slightly Stoopid on tour and they are two of my favorite bands if you throw in some Ballyhoo! talk about a concert I would have loved to seen. I can’t wait for these guys to hit it big it's only a matter of time, mark my words.

They are about to drop a new CD  and are currently on LAW RECORDS (how badass) and I am so pumped to get it! Check out one of my favorite songs (Paper Dolls) off of Cheers! I LOVE running to this song it pumps me up every. single. time.

The Statue of Liberty is in Alabama.

I'm sure everyone has those memories of childhood that stick with you for the rest of your life like the first day of school, singing achy breaky heart on the playground (what that was just me?), pushing a friend off of the monkey bars and breaking their glasses, being left at school all afternoon because you sister ran away and didn't come pick you up, and oh yea that day in First grade when the question was asked: "Where is the Statue of Liberty?"

I stuck my hand HIGH in the air with all the excitement building in my belly because I knew this answer! I was sure no one else did and I had to tell the teacher because even back then I demanded to be the favorite. To my happiness I was called on first and with a big smile on my face I proudly said, "It's in Alabama!" You can imagine my embarrassment when the whole class laughed at me and the teacher said I was wrong and that there was no Statue of Liberty in Alabama... the confusion I felt because I had SEEN it with my own two eyes many times driving with my parents up to Tennessee. I don't remember (or care) who gave the right answer of New York right after me I just remember my cheeks burning and the anger in my belly thinking that these people thought I was stupid. Well, you know what... Suck it first grade I finally have proof that the Statue of Liberty IS in Alabama! I don't remember who my teacher was but if you read this now you can email me an apology at socmajorgrl[A]gmail.com
On our way back from Chattanooga, TN last week we stopped in Birmingham, AL to take pictures with this thing. It has been apart of my childhood since that day in first grade and now I have proof of it and we also found out what the hell it is doing in Alabama. You see it is part of the Boy Scouts of America monument and is exactly 1/6th of the size of the real one (which Yes, that one is in New York) It was 200 degrees last Monday when we went but you have no idea how excited I was to finally get these pictures.

Mom & I
(She absolutely loves this story & remembers me coming home crying because they thought I was stupid but she backed me up all the way!)

Staring straight into the sun

Another weird thing I remember about Birmingham growing up: Their McDonald's sold pizza.

What weird memories do you have from childhood?

Have you ever seen this Statue of Liberty in Alabama?
