You're a Fashole!

Last week on Leap Day my mom and I had a little date. We went to see the amazing, the legendary, JOAN RIVERS do stand up at Benaroya Hall in Downtown Seattle. I have been obsessed with this woman since I was little and saw her at all the red carpet events. Then I grew up and found out she is a legendary comic who paved the way for women in comedy and plastic surgery. I love her. She is fantastic and It was one of the best nights ever!

Benaroya Hall is amazing in and of itself and I was totally excited to get to see what it looked like on the inside. We got there about 20 minuets early and felt oh so fancy with them offering gourmet snacks and a full bar. Neither of us wanted to drink or eat so we went up to the second floor so I could snap a few pictures.

Then a picture of us...after 12 tries.

Then they opened the doors and we rushed in along with the hundreds of other people. I had ordered nice seats but I didn't expect us to be This Close:

Row K... for Knight ya know.

Then another picture of us
She wore fur. I hate fur. It was fake fur but I still told her she was horrible.
Then I told her it was okay because I think both of us look cute enough NOT to be a Fashole and that's important when you are going to see Joan.

Crowd Shot:

I love the little guy in the red vest. (Their wives made them come)

Then Joan took the stage for over an hour! That's crazy insane for a comedian and especially one that is 78. Speaking of age one of the funnier jokes she did was about when people introduce her as 78 years Young. She said Al Roker did this to her and she thought, WTF let me introduce him as Al Roker 375lbs Thin.

HAHHAHAHAHAHA

She is very lewd, crewed, and completely politically incorrect.
If you can't love it don't go.
You  may cry.

There she is.

She was wearing this sparkly disco ball coat thing and I could not get a picture to turn out for the life of me but I swear that really is her.

Then at the end she put on this hot pink big bird coat and said her goodbyes.

What a fun night getting to see a legend with my Momma!

WTF Wednesday!?

Lets be silly today and do a WTF Wednesday! I totally stole this idea from one of my Favorite Bloggers RunningOffTheReeses Cely. I love her...I realllllly want her to be my friend but we live to far away and she lives in that state that I hate Texas..oh such is life.

At work the other day I sent BFF Haley (thecrappyblogger) this gem of a picture:

She responds with this:
I love her.
She is my other "other" half. If it was legal to marry more than one person AND gay marriage was legal in Mississippi then we would be married and be a wayyyy hotter version of this:

Plus throw Josh in soooo we would really be more like Polyamory...and we could all get shirts with this on it:

After we had that conversation I realized something Tragic and thanks to Internet my fears were confirmed.

There are NO O'Charley's on this entire side of the country. It's not that tragic but damn sometimes I miss those rolls and those loaded smashed potatoes. Haley and I have so many memories from High school with that place. Maybe I should open one. "DA OC"

I'm getting extremely PUMPED for one of my awesome friends weddings in November! CK and I just booked tickets so it's in stone AND we get to BOTH be in the wedding. Maybe we can be precious and walk together! I'm sure we will since both Nicole (the BRIDE) and Harvey (the GROOM) where in our wedding last June and we had them walk together (Nicole threatened my life if they didn't get to):

Check them out:
Hotties.

AND I think Nicole decided on what I will be wearing today:

It has Pockets! I'm totally pumped.

GUESS WHO IS BACK!!!

OMG. Fiona Apple, Never make me wait this long again before you release another CD!
PS.Iloveyou.

On Tuesday I walked out my front door to this:

WTF?! It was like 50 the day before and beautiful.
Thankfully it all melted away and has been beautiful and warm ever since.

CK also text/picture messaged me today and said, "check out my meat"....

I got really excited before I looked at the picture but it wasn't what I thought... such is life.

The GREAT news is though that after a month of looking for a full time butcher job he got the one of his dreams. Working for Bill the Butcher which is like a small ole time Butcher shop and it deals in only the best organic grass fed beef. He loves it and I love the paycheck. Between this and the music I finally feel like our life is settling in in Seattle. We are so happy...I literally sh*t rainbows now.

Dinner with Schmucks

Noooo, I didn't go to Dinner with Schmucks I went with my girls! (Here you go Sonja sorry it took so long haha) The first 2 girls I met when we moved here were my apartment leasing agent (Raelyn) and my boss at my first WA job (Sonja). I liked them so much that I decided they were going to be my friends and they had no choice in the matter. Now, we go on dinner dates together! We ended up having so much fun that we are going to start doing it every few weeks. The plan is to explore Seattle food and some adventures that we think might be fun.

We were to busy stuffing our faces to take pictures of ourselves that night but we did get pictures of all the yummy Greek Food!

Our very first place was Kafe Neo in Mill Creek.
None of us had ever been there and we all wanted to try a bunch of food that we never had ordered before so we ordered lots..and lots of food to share. It was fantastic.

We ordered 3 appetizers:

We got the Hallumi - So delish.
 The other two appetizers:

Traditional Hummus & Greek Olive Medley.
I actually TRIED a big ole Olive and it wasn't bad. Can't say that I just want to eat them but it was not a horrible experience. I might even venture there again....

Up next you get Soup or Salad with your meal and I ended up getting this soup:

I loved it! The lemon really was different but it worked and the tangy to salt ratio was perfect in my opinion. If you like chicken noodle soup give this one a try.

Onto dinner - I've tried the following before at other Greek places and Kafe Neos chicken breast was the best I've ever had. I love that I have the choice of white meat and at other places it's usually some other parts of the chicken. Who knows, alls i'm sayin' is that I really liked it.
Chicken Breast Gyro

Then we noticed this big tray of stuff being toted around and discovered they have "mini" deserts. Seriously... I now have an EXCUSE to get 2 because they are Mini's?? AND are only $2.50 a piece?
Well played. Well played.

Between the 3 of us we got these 4:
Rice Pudding = surprisingly yummy! I never thought I'd like it.. I was wrong.
Creme Brulee = a big let down. Not a fan.
Chocolate Baklava = a surprising let down. The chocolate got in the way of the honey and I can't believe I'm saying this but it just wasn't needed.
Kahlua Mouse = Very good and gooey.

Overall we really liked Kafe Neo - the waitress was so sweet and my water got refilled like 4 times which in my book means you're golden. I'm definitely going to go back and take CK with me. I can't wait for the next girls dinner though- I think we decided on Thai food next (I've never tried it) so that should be interesting! Next time I'll try to remember to take a picture of Us too...not just the food haha. Oh, and it's a good thing they are totally cool with me snapping tons of pictures of our food for the blog...that's not weird at all.

Are there a lot of different Restaurants in your town to try out?
