Extremely loooong post.

Catch up moving post once again! (From the road this time)
We are almost to St. Louis about 130 miles away and I’m trying to get caught up so I can tell you about all of our road trippin adventures. Let’s just say that we started off the morning in tip top condition… Olive puked in my car 4 different times, I poured water all over my mother, and that was all before we got out of MS.
 Stay tuned.

Part 1

If you read my blog and keep up with it you’re probably wondering about the new facebook friends that my Mom (and I) now have, Greg and David. Let me start off by explaining that my mother had to come down last Tuesday in order to keep me from loosing my mind. This move has been the most stressful thing I have ever done and I have had more breakdowns than at any other point in my life (even the wedding) and when those happen there is only one person that can really calm me down and make me understand that everything’s going to be alright. (and no it’s not Bob Marley) That’s where Mom comes in and boy did she have to come in last Tuesday! We stayed up all night Monday trying to get ready for the movers (I found a company that would come and load up all our belongings and put them in their truck and then unload them when you get to your new home) but the job was way bigger than I thought. We just simply have too much stuff! I got overwhelmed and freaked out every few hours and asked my mom to come down last Tuesday morning so that she could help me deal with the movers (something I have never had to do before) and make sure all of our stuff was taken care of.

Needless to say I didn’t expect Mom to become best buds with them, add them on Facebook, get us a deal, and chat with them on Facebook as they make their way across the country with all our stuff. I’d like to think that I get my friendliness from my Mom and I guess that old saying, “I never met a stranger” fits her perfect.

Now, back to Greg and David they are our movers and the nicest guys that anyone could want moving everything you own and love. They came in and packed everything up and got it loaded in record time and with top notch care! I was extremely pleased and I could feel the stress getting less and less as each box was carried out of my door. Once they were all loaded up and gone our apartment was empty (or so I thought) and I wanted to do a cartwheel in my empty bedroom I was so happy to be rid of everything.
Then it set in that we really are moving and there was no turning back now.

Olive is pissed.

We're finished!!! Olive is still not interested.

We got to spend the next 2 nights sleeping on our blow up air mattress where CK and I got some quality time in (no, not that pervs) talking about moving and the new life we were about to start. Although, before we left Laurel we wanted to get in as much time as we could with family and friends so we didn’t lie on the air mattress long….

The last goodbye

Those were from last Wednesday night – we were supposed to finish packing up on Thursday morning but it ended up taking us all day and by the time we were finished I was kicking myself for not just selling everything I owned and starting completely over. It is just A PAIN IN THE ASS to move. Endofstory.

Once we officially left our apartment on Thursday afternoon we went to Chad’s Mimi & Papaws again (they wanted to see us one last time) and then we headed out to his Grandmothers to spend our last night in Laurel. Chad’s whole family is amazingly sweet and kind but his Grandmother and Grandfather just live and breathe for their family. They always have enough food prepared when family comes over to feed 30 people and it is always the best food ever. I didn’t even get dinner pictures due the fact that we forgot to eat all day Thursday and were STARVING by the time we got there but check out our Friday morning breakfast:

Pancakes, sausage, and eggs.

Very scary morning face

Can you say Delicious!?

 Part 2

Saying goodbye to Jackson ended up being a tad bit harder than I thought it was going to be. (Yes, I just admitted that) We got to spend a lot of time with my friends and family and to be honest I just didn’t think that my family was going to be sad or upset that I was leaving… well, I was wrong and it hit me off guard and made me sad to leave them.

Saturday CK and I work up and went running (I swear!) about 2.5 miles around my Grans neighborhood. It was nice to go get some stress out on the road and felt good since I hadn’t ran for about a week before that. Later that day we went out to eat with HOSH and ESPO at Olive Garden where we all ate until our pants barely fit. It was fantastic. Then Saturday night CK and I went to stay with my Daddy and Step Mom Sandy. We have wanted to stay with them for awhile but didn’t ever get the chance until last Saturday. They cooked us a yummy dinner and then the rest of the night was spent playing this really fun game called sequence and drinking lots of wine.

Fun game!

We had a lot of fun Saturday night and I’m going to miss them a lot but I just have to keep reminding myself that we will be back in 2 months for Christmas! The next morning (Sunday) we got to hang out with my Daddy and Sandy during the morning and that night me, my Mom, Gran, & CK  went to my sisters house for dinner.

It was so nice getting to spend time with them and my nephews shocked me (especially the 14 year old one) when they were so sad about us leaving and asking us if we were coming back for their birthdays in March. My heart started aching at the thought of not being able to be there for them but that is just one of the many things I will have to get used to being so far away. All I can say is that I’m so happy/thankful that we got to spend all the time that we did with all of our family and friends before we left.

Now, I am finally caught up! I left out a bunch of other things that happened over the last week but I made sure to hit the high notes.

Now we are on track for the Road Trip!
Up Next… the St. Louis adventure.
